The Cornets & Cannons Festival is dedicated to the memory of Dr. Frederick Fennell. His ground-breaking recordings of Civil War music performed on period instruments, issued as LPs during the Civil War Centennial half a century ago, inspired the current generation of folks involved in re-creating that music. We follow reverently in his footsteps.

Dr. Fennell is pictured in the center with David Goins (left) and Mike West (right). Both perform with Saxton's Cornet Band.
